FishIQ started as a school project and a simple question: why do I need five different apps just to plan one fishing trip? The answer became a platform used by thousands of anglers across Australia.
Planning a fishing trip used to mean checking the weather app, then a separate tide app, then a species guide, then a fishing forum, then a maps app to find the spot. By the time you had all the information, you'd spent more time researching than fishing.
At 12 years old, frustrated after a fruitless morning session that a quick tide check would have saved, the idea for FishIQ was born. What if one app could tell you exactly when and where to fish — and actually be right?
Two years later, after learning to code and spending countless hours on the water testing predictions against reality, FishIQ launched with an AI-powered Bite Score that combines real-time tides, weather, moon phase, and species behaviour into a single number: your odds of a good session.
Caught his first bream at a local creek with a handmade rod. Instantly hooked.
Started juggling five different apps just to plan a single fishing trip — weather here, tides there, species guides somewhere else. There had to be a better way.
Started learning to code. Realised that AI could predict the best time and place to fish by combining all the data sources into one intelligent score.
Built the first version of FishIQ as a school project. 182 fishing spots across Australia, real-time AI bite scores, species guides, and a community of anglers.
FishIQ isn't just an app. It's a set of beliefs about what fishing technology should be.
Every feature on FishIQ was designed by someone who has stood on a riverbank at 5am, wondering if the fish are biting. We build tools we actually use.
Our bite score isn't a gimmick. It combines real-time tide data, weather conditions, moon phase, and historical catch patterns to give you a genuine edge.
FishIQ is built specifically for Australian waters — our 182 spots, 52 species, and state-by-state regulations are all tailored to the unique conditions of this continent.
The best fishing knowledge doesn't come from algorithms — it comes from local anglers who know the spots. FishIQ is a platform for that knowledge to be shared.
To give every Australian angler — from the weekend warrior to the serious tournament competitor — the same intelligence advantage that used to require years of local knowledge. We want every trip to be a good trip.
